So much of what we assume about antiquity has been bleached and strained. Time, however, is a pure medium wherein truth is suspended but religious historians agitate and steep this dispassionate slurry until all that is left is the fetid swamp of their personal biases.

The future can no more become the present than can the past, they both lie just outside the moment, that razor’s edge upon which our existence balances. We have but the briefest tic of time to make our choices before they are swept into the abyss where even God cannot change them.
